Iniziamo!

First meeting of the theatre workshop in Italian language, supported by the SGSAH.

The workshop aims at staging the memories of the Italian women who took part in my research on the collective memory of Italian political violence in the 1970s.

The workshop, known in the past as 'The Italian Play', seemed the perfect opportunity to not only birth the performance in the language of the participants, and at the same time engage a younger generation in a conversation about a historical period that is not so well known nor discussed.

Five students from the LLC department took part in the first session. The goal was to give a sense of what kind of work will be carried out in the following sessions, exposing them to the topic and to the methodology that will be employed (physical theatre, improvisation).

Content of the performance: historical coordinates

Games:

  • Ya (a version of splat)
  • Wink murder
  • Numbers 1-10 e 1-20 in group
  • In space, moving from 1-5, at the same pace
  • In space: 1 clap change of direction, 2 backward or forward, 3 stop
  • In two groups: create a living statue of an emotion for the other group to guess
